About Somers

Somers Preschool is nestled amongst the trees, just minutes from the beach.   There is a sense of calm and tranquility at our kindergarten which allows for children to learn in an environment which nurtures their wellbeing.

Children learn in a balanced curriculum; play and intentional teaching sit alongside each other to support children’s skills, knowledge and characteristics.  Music and movement are important to us and the children; we deliver a rich creative environment.

Somers Preschool will be offering Nature Kinder as a part of the program. Nature pedagogy is an important part of the curriculum at Somers and this will continue in 2021 but will look different in order to fit in with the longer days. The beautiful local surrounds of the beach and bushland will be used to explore and learn about nature and indigenous culture. The connections the community has made with Coolart will continue but in a different way.

We have strong connections to the country. Our curriculum embeds the traditions of our Indigenous culture and proudly works alongside the local indigenous community.

Our playground has recently undergone a remarkable transformation. Children are exploring nature, taking risks and going on adventures as they march over the bridge, pump water into the creek, dig in the mud pit and much more.

We are proud to be supported by a strong group of families who work hard to build our kindergarten’s sense of community.

REGISTRATION
To enrol at a Community Kinders Plus kindergarten you must first register with the Mornington Peninsula Shire. This can be done online.

Please note: On time registrations close on 17th July, 2022

Mornington Peninsula Shire will then facilitate the offers of enrolment at each service. Once you have received an offer you will then be contacted by Community Kinders Plus.

CKP  will contact you with your unique username and password which will allow access to the website to complete your child’s online enrolment form. Do not attempt to login unless you have these details. Attempts to enrol your child without these login details will be unsuccessful and you will have to fill out the form again once you received your SMS. FEES
As a not for profit organisation, Community Kinders Plus aims to keep fees as low as possible to ensure that families can afford the invaluable investment in their child’s early childhood education.  To view our Fee Policy please click here.
