Community Kinders Plus

Following two years of discussions with Peninsula Health, CKP established an arrangement with the Paediatric Department to offer two days of free outreach Paediatric services for families. Banyan Fields and Karingal were the host centres with all CKP families being able to access the clinics at these kindergartens. The program was funded by the Menzies Foundation who saw the value of younger children being seen by specialists. During the year approximately 260 children were seen by the Paediatricians.
CKP introduced pilot school readiness groups in Term 4 to support children with the transition to school in 2020. The groups were held at one of our kindergartens and facilitated by 2 of our very experienced teachers. Following the positive feedback from families and the improved outcomes for the children involved CKP has decided to continue these groups into 2020 and they will operate in Terms 2,3 and 4.
