Community Kinders Plus had the opportunity to work with a group of visiting Chinese Early Childhood Principals thanks to our partnership with Monash University. On Monday 23rd October we visited the Principals at their Clayton venue to share the way in which we plan and program for children in CKP kindergartens. We also spent some time discussing Early Childhood leadership in Australia and how it compares to the Chinese context.
Tuesday and Wednesday were spent visiting 3 of the CKP kindergartens (Banyan Fields, Delacombe Park and Bentons Square) with small groups of Principals allowing them an opportunity to participate in the programs, chat with staff and interact with the children. The children enjoyed having special visitors and were very keen to learn how to count to 10 in Chinese.
The children also spent some time teaching the Principals animal names in English using a game of snap. This was a wonderful experience for everyone involved with a great deal of knowledge exchange taking place and an enhanced awareness of Early Childhood Education from the global perspective.
